Rick Overkleeft, CEO 4MedBox, is a social impact entrepreneur in the bio-medical and health sector for the last 10 years. He has a bioinformatics background, but quickly became a leading bioinformatics enterprise architect and co-founded cooperatives and businesses around the concept of giving data ownership back towards the person. He gave lectures about data privacy in the medical sector and a TEDx talk about breaking the trend of data colonialism. He is also a guest researcher at the Leiden University Medical Center where he focusses on the FAIR principles, semantic web technology for the medical field, and synthetic DNA data.
He recently co-founded and became CEO of Primo Medda, a joint venture focussed on bringing Personalized Medicine as a service towards the places where it can make the most impact, while making sure that the person stays in control of their data.
