PIR2 is a future French start-up developing a robot (Light Puncture Robot) to assist in percutaneous interventional radiology. It performs diagnostic and therapeutic acts by using CT scans or MRI images. The robot inserts the needle under the clinician’s direction, which allows it to reduce the intervention time, the irradiation of both the patient and the clinician. It increases in the precision and repeatability of gestures and reduces the learning curve of interventional radiology procedures.
